Abstrakt
The book focuses on the reflection of several significant motifs of the work of H. Blumenberg (1920 – 1996), such as myth, myth-making, metamorphology and the theory of non-conceptuality, phenomenological anthropology, reality, skepticism, Lebensewelt, the theory of knowledge in relation to the problem of contingency and facticity, irony, the theory of actio per distans as a possibility of overcoming the temporal limitation of human existence and finally the problem of the competence of philosophy in relation to the uncertainty and insecurity of our existence. At the same time, it provides an extensive bibliographical overview of Blumenberg's work. In the Slovak and Czech environment, this is the first consistent polemic with the philosophy of the German philosopher, who is now extremely appreciated and widely reflected upon. Blumenberg did not understand philosophy as a "concern for the soul", but as an investigating reason. He defended philosophy without leaning towards anyone who claims a share in the heritage of European Western culture. Competence in the heritage of Europeanism is rather provided by scientific, technical and technological rationality, if it is understood as the original cultural product of Western education.
