Morálne dilemy v sociálnych službách

Moral dilemmas in social services
Abstrakt
The book Moral Dilemmas in Social Services shows how in such a seemingly exclusively practical area as social services, political, moral theory and practice, as well as the economic-pragmatic aspect of politics, intertwine. It raises the question of the definition of social services and the place of ethics in them, and addresses the necessity of distinguishing between the various axiological backgrounds of social services, with an emphasis on their development from charity to a legally regulated form. It also examines the issue of distribution in social services, with an emphasis on the relevance of merit, needs, and the legitimization of compensation. It also addresses the issue of human rights, their origin, types, and legitimization in connection with social services. In describing and analyzing the relationship between social control and individual autonomy, paternalism and respect for human dignity, between the medical and social models of disability and their impact and impact on the understanding of social services and social policy, especially in the context of long-term care, the work draws attention to the moral dilemmas associated with the provision of social services.
