The publication Political Thinking of the New School analyses the key ideas of the contributors to Slovenské novine and their interpretation (in the context of the period, focused mainly on reflecting the importance of national equality, civil freedom, the benefits of ideological competition, cultural plurality and tolerance, the principle of pragmatism, etc.). The authors of the articles in Slovenské novine introduced into the political thinking of the Slovak intelligentsia an emphasis on a qualitatively new approach - a civic gradual concept of the formation of national institutionalization. The defense of its basic axioms allowed it to simultaneously emphasize the importance of the ideas of political and cultural equality, freedom of expression, tolerance and national plurality, which were to give a new civic meaning to the thesis of the Hungarian political nation. Despite the social dimension of their political program, the philosophical-political approach of the New School retained visible liberal aspects, which were based on the protection of individual rights and freedoms, on the defense of the principles of the separation of powers, practical rationality, political moderation, gradualism, and political and cultural pluralism.
