The Character of Current Philosophy and its Methods XI
Abstrakt
The volume The Character of Current Philosophy and Its Methods presents a selection of papers from the international PhD conference of the Young Philosophy series, organized by the Institute of Philosophy of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. The contributions cover a broad range of contemporary philosophical inquiry, including epistemology, ethics, metaphysics, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, political philosophy, history of philosophy, and experimental philosophy. The authors engage with both classical philosophical traditions (Plato, Aristotle, Kant, Nietzsche, Wittgenstein, Whitehead) and modern theoretical issues such as the ambivalence of modernity, normativity, the role of value judgments, the function of punishment, the nature of subjectivity, pluralism, mass media, and social order. A unifying feature of the volume is its critical reflection on methodological approaches in contemporary philosophy and its effort to connect historical-philosophical analysis with current theoretical and societal challenges. The collection demonstrates the thematic and methodological plurality of contemporary philosophy while highlighting its capacity to address the complex problems of the modern world.
