Abstrakt
J. Pauer's book is an unusual contribution to thinking about the media, not only in the Slovak context. In the three main essays of the book, he presents the phenomenon of the media in a completely different way than a textbook on the media or a philosophical reflection led astray by it would do. The media is inscribed in the background of a refined anthropological or ontological foundation. The latently disturbing flatness and banality of usual thinking about the media has disappeared, we are in a situation where the topic finally stands out in relief. The culmination of the book is a chapter dedicated to tragedy, on the ground plan of which J. Pauer presents the opposing forces of order and disintegration. These forces pass through philosophical considerations and shape them from the pre-Socratic beginnings of philosophy to the most contemporary considerations about the perception of the living body of another...
