Introduction to the philosophy of social knowledge
Abstrakt
The book Introduction to the Philosophy of Social Knowledge addresses the fundamental philosophical questions of the social sciences in the context of current discussions about the nature of scientific knowledge. The author analyzes the relationship between the natural and social sciences and bases their distinction on the ontological specificity of social facts. The central concept is human action as the starting point of social and historical knowledge. Sedová explores the relationship between explanation and understanding, critically evaluates causal models of explanation, and defends methodological pluralism based on the nature of the problem under study.
