SAS awarded authors of top publications

By awarding top publications, the Presidium of the SAS wants to evaluate the achievements of scientists who have managed to break into scientific journals of extraordinary prestige, publish works with an extremely high number of citations in internationally accepted and visible databases or publish top scientific monographs in renowned publishing houses. At the same time, he wants to stimulate them to further excellent performances.

“Today’s view of the hall fills me with optimism,” began his speech to the awarded scientists, the President of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, prof. Pavol Šajgalík, who emphasized that many of them are relatively young people, “this gives hope that we are on the right path and we are starting to do well. Recognizing top publications is part of our pursuit of excellence.”  These words were also confirmed by the Vice-President of the SAS for Science, Research and Innovation, Prof. Peter Samuely, who confirmed that the awarded scientists are indeed the “crème de la crème” of the proposals that preceded the awarding of the prizes.

On Tuesday, September 13, 2022, the following scientists from the Faculty of Arts of the Slovak Academy of Sciences received their awards:

  • PhDr. Daniela Glavaničová, PhD., and Mgr. Ing. Miloš Kosterec, PhD., from the Institute of Philosophy of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, for the article Fine-grained poetry: a new argument against the prevailing position, published in the journal Analysis;

The event was moderated by Jaroslav Valent from the Institute of History of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
